EXP2 The Architecture - Light Rail Stop

The Architecture - Light Rail Stop

The way in which Toyo Ito allows natural light to travel through areas of the structure can be seen here. This open structure also allows for a public area to form, where all the multicultural students of UNSW can meet and mingle whilst waiting for the light rail.

The geometric block like structures, used in Barragan's work, are apart in the tunnel for the light rail. The bold colours used by Barragan, can also be seen through the red and yellow painted walls, giving a unique experience, when the light rail arrives at the stop.

Barragan and Ito both allow the structure to be open and apart of the environment. This can be seen through the grass courtyards on the roof, and through the incorporation of Ito's abstract windows, which allows for light to travel through the glass.
